3 Ways to Honor God in Quarantine

3 Ways to Honor God in Quarantine

Hey teens! As you go through social distancing, here are 3 practical ways to honor God in quarantine.   These tips are setting your mind on Christ, being obedient, and using wisdom. Our prayer is that these tips assist you and keep you motivated in faith even in the midst of the unknown. Gods got you covered!

  1. Set Your Mind On Christ

During this time be deliberate about setting your mind on Christ. Isaiah 26:3 says that He will keep in perfect peace all who trust in Him! This is a great way to stay in faith and stay motivated during this time. Be deliberate. Play worship music in your room and in your headphones. Spend time in devotion (like you’re doing now! Lol) and read God’s Word. Start your day off simply honoring God by acknowledging Him first with the start of your day. These are just a few ways to keep your mind set on Him and stay in faith.

2. Be Obedient -Obey The Laws Of The Land

One of the things our Bishop (one of the coolest Bishops on earth (Lol..plug) ),Bishop Herbert Bailey, stated as we transitioned to online was to honor the laws of the land. Romans 13:1 says, “Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God.” What this means teens is that as we honor the laws set by our government at this time, we’re really honoring God in the process. It may seem annoying and frustrating but don’t worry! You’re in God’s hands especially when you’re obedient!

3. Use Wisdom -All Things Are Lawful But Not Expedient

Last but definitely not least, use wisdom! While you’re sitting at home, possibly getting irritated with boredom, don’t allow that boredom to birth unwise decisions! First Corinthians 10:23 (NIV) says, “ ‘I have the right to do anything,’ you say —but not everything is beneficial.” You may have seen on the news people throwing house parties and going to the beach during this time because they still feel they have the right to do so. Technically they did, however, this wasn’t beneficial for anyone during this time. Take that same principal and use wisdom before doing any and everything you still have the right to do this season. It’s as simple as asking yourself this question: I know I CAN do this, but is it beneficial to me at this time? Is it beneficial to me, my health or others? Or is it a risk? These questions could help you on your way to wise decision making during quarantine.

Doing these three things are beneficial ways to help you honor God as you go through social distancing. We hope these steps help you as you stay in faith to come out victorious! Much love and continue to #GOEPIC.
