How many voices do you listen to in 1 day? Think about it for a moment. The voices you listen to in a day are probably your parent’s, siblings, friends at school, teachers and social media are the main ones that may have come to mind. Among all of these voices there is one that may be listened to the least. I’m sure you’ve guessed by now that voice I’m referring to is the voice of God. I know you’ve heard a million times that you should hear God’s voice over all the other voices that are trying to get your attention. But let me dig a little deeper and explain to you why this voice is the most important. Jeremiah 1:5 tell us,
Before I shaped you in the womb I knew all about you,
Before you saw the light of day I had holy plans for you:
A prophet to the nations-that’s what I had in mind for you
Also, John 15:15(a) tell us,
You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you,
and I have appointed and placed and purposefully planted you,
so that you would go and bear fruit and keep on bearing,
and that your fruit will remain and be lasting…
God’s voice is so important over any other voice because God knew us before we were even formed! Before He formed us He thought about us, what he wanted to do with us individually and then formed us! He had a whole plan for our lives before we were even formed! WOW! How awesome is that. That second verse reminds us that we didn’t choose God, He chose us. He appointed and placed us here for a purpose. Think about if an electronic device was acting up and you knew exactly who modeled that device and had access to them. Would you not go to them since they are the creator of it? God’s voice is so important because He is our creator! He created us, he knows how he created us to operate and he knows what he created us to do. No matter what other voices you may hear that cause you to doubt yourself, your ability or the gift you know God has given you, go back to the voice of the creator! What does God say about you? Make it a quest to dig in and find out what God has said about you, not just on the surface level but on a deeper more personal level. He’s already chosen and appointed you for greatness. Listen to the voice that will lead and guide you into His will for your life.
